Compensation For A Burn Or Allergy From Cellulite Treatment

Claim For Cellulite Treatment

'Eporex’ or ‘no-needle mesotherapy’ is a relatively new and increasingly popular beauty treatment, targeting stubborn areas of fat, cellulite, stretch marks and other skin imperfections. Traditional mesotherapy uses needles to inject active ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, plant extracts and amino acids into the skin, which is rejuvenated as a result. ‘Eporex’ is a non-invasive electrical delivery system, using isophoresis technology to push the mixture of nutrients deep into the skin, using a low frequency electrical current, achieving penetration of up to 10cm.

Burns From Cellulite Treatments

The two most important risks with ‘Eporex’ mesotherapy, are the possibility of burns from the electrical current, and the risk of an allergic reaction to any one of the multiple ingredients that make up the special mixture used during the treatment. The intensity of the electrical current will be adjusted by the beauty technician or operator, and is conducted via pads encased in a damp sponge which are attached to the body. If the pulse settings are too high, or if the conductive pads are wrongly positioned, electrical burn injuries may result. Such burns can be both painful and disfiguring, especially where the treatment is being used to target cellulite and stretch marks. In some cases scarring can be permanent.

Allergic Reactions & Contraindications

The variety of ingredients that enter the body during an ‘Eporex’ mesotherapy treatment makes it essential that beauty salons carry out skin patch tests on new customers, to detect pre-existing allergies. Though the majority of the ingredients used occur naturally in the body, there is always the risk of a negative reaction, and salons therefore need to take adequate precautions to protect clients. They should also carry out an extensive medical consultation with new customers, to identify contraindications which will mean the treatment is unsuitable. These include pregnancy, mothers who are lactating, and those suffering from epilepsy or severe asthma.

Claiming Compensation For Cellulite Treatment Injuries

It is essential to seek the advice of specialist solicitors if you have been burned or suffered an allergic reaction from an ‘Eporex’ mesotherapy treatment. An injured person may have to spend considerable sums of money on surgery to reduce scarring, and even this may not be able to repair the damage caused. Severe allergic reactions can also ongoing medical consequences. These kinds of injuries are always sensitive, and normally involve both physical and emotional pain and suffering.
